June 21st - Free Gaming Business

Free Gaming Business LogoOn June 21st, Sean Kauppinen spoke in Rotterdam at the first ever Free Gaming Business Conference which was organized by BGin, the Benelux Game Initiative. The talk was focused on advice for independent developers.

The Dutch have a history of creativity and art, but very poor branding within the games industry. We turned a few heads letting them know the average man month in China is currently around $2,600 and after four years of outsourced development, the Chinese are starting to learn what global publishers want from their products. The key prediction was that within four years, project management, cultural understanding, and business connections will create a perfect storm for China to be a solid source of outsourced game production AND creativity.
